4. Cookies and Tracking
Our website is built on Squarespace, which uses cookies — small files stored on your device — to operate the website and analyze traffic. Squarespace may use analytics tools to help us understand how visitors use the site.
We do not run advertising on our site. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites or to serve targeted advertisements.
You may disable cookies through your browser settings. Doing so should not affect your ability to access the information on our site, though some interactive features (such as the calculator) may be affected.
If we run advertising campaigns on Facebook or Instagram, we may use the Meta Pixel — a small piece of code on our website that helps us measure the effectiveness of our ads by tracking actions visitors take after clicking on them. This may involve Meta (Facebook's parent company) placing cookies on your device. We do not use this data to build advertising profiles or retarget visitors for commercial purposes. Any ads we run are solely to raise awareness of BC autism and disability funding issues.
5. Social Media
We maintain a presence on Facebook (both a public Page and a community Group) and Instagram. When you interact with us on these platforms, your interactions are governed by the privacy policies of those platforms (Meta/Facebook and Instagram), not by this policy.
If you choose to join our Facebook Group, please be aware that it is a community space visible to other group members. Do not share sensitive personal or medical information in the group that you would not want others to see.
6. Data Retention
We retain contact form submissions and email addresses only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry or, if you have opted in to updates, until you unsubscribe. You may request deletion of your information at any time by contacting us at the email address below.
7. Your Rights (BC PIPA)
As a BC-based organization, we are subject to BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Under PIPA, you have the right to:
